De MPC500 gaat verder in de traditie van de welbekende Akai samplers en sequencers. De MPC500 werkt op netspanning of op batterijen en is daarom de eerste MPC die écht draagbaar is. De klassieke feel en sound waar de MPC\'s voor gekend zijn ook hier aanwezig.
