De BCM 104 is ideaal voor waarheidsgetrouwe reproductie van spraak en muziek. Dit dnakzij zijn speciale richtingskarakteristiek, die vlak is tot 3kHz en daarna geleidelijk de hogere frequenties boost. Interne switches kunnen gebruikt worden om het proximity effect te compenseren en om de gevoeligheid met 14 dB te verminderen.
